Robert Anke lives with his wife and son in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he teaches art. He was pigeonholed by his first grade teacher, Ms. Phillip, when she dubbed him “Artist Anke,” and doomed him to a lifetime of paint, ink, and clay-covered clothing. He’s worked in various media but never strays far from painting, drawing, and ceramics. A California native, he enjoys the outdoors anywhere from the San Gabriel Mountains down south, to the Trinity Alps up north, but spends most of his time in his beloved Briones Regional Park; the setting for many of his paintings.
